Paris 2024. The Most Sustainable and Exciting Olympics in History.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are setting a milestone in sustainability. Committed to respecting the environment, these Games stand out for their focus on reducing the carbon footprint and promoting green practices. A notable example is the choice of existing infrastructure for most of the competitions, thus minimizing the need for new construction. In addition, measures are being implemented to encourage public transportation and sustainable mobility, such as bicycles and electric vehicles.

A flagship project is the upgrading of the Seine River to make it swimmable. This ambitious effort involves implementing advanced wastewater treatment systems and improving sanitation infrastructure. With significant investment in cleaning and monitoring water quality, Paris seeks not only to provide a safe environment for athletes who will compete in water sports, but also to return this iconic river to citizens for recreational use by 2025.

In addition, Paris 2024 is committed to eco-friendly diets for athletes, prioritizing local and seasonal foods, and minimizing meat consumption in favor of plant-based options. This not only reduces the carbon footprint associated with food production, but also promotes healthy and sustainable eating. In line with this philosophy, they are also working to reduce the use of plastics in food, opting for reusable and compostable packaging. And just now the olympic athletes cardboard beds have gone viral in Saint Denis Village.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on July 26, and will be artistically directed by Thomas Jolly, marking the beginning of an Olympic Games that seeks not only to celebrate sport, but also to inspire future generations about the importance of caring for the planet and to bring together under the umbrella of multiculturalism and humanity the French values of: Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

Aware of the ecological issue, the ceremony will start at 7:30 pm, a time that will make the most of natural light, and all measures have been taken to ensure that the habitat of the river is not affected by the inaugural artistic work. In this way, it is predicted that Paris 2024 will be a model to follow for future sporting events in terms of sustainability.

As for the opening performance, we couldn't be more excited. Thomas Jolly, and the entire artistic team, will surprise us, absolutely with a backdrop that for the first time is not forced, but is loaded with history and is part of the life of Parisians, and all who love this beautiful city: The Seine and the architecture that rises on its slopes. We wish to see this exquisite spectacle that has been created with so much passion, dedication and love, in the city of lights for the whole world.

Let the cauldron be lit to start the Olympic Games! Let the spectacle of sport begin in the city of love
